Insurance Recognition and Industry Partnerships
Supporting Professional Beauty Training and Insurance Eligibility
Beauty Therapy Accreditation (BTA) recognises the importance of professional insurance for beauty therapists, massage practitioners, wellness professionals and training providers.
Obtaining appropriate insurance is an important consideration for students completing professional training and preparing to offer treatments to clients.
BTA is actively exploring relationships with professional insurance providers to support the recognition of eligible BTA-accredited training courses.
Through industry collaboration, we aim to encourage greater understanding of training standards, course content, assessment requirements and professional competence.
Our Approach
BTA requires applicants to submit documentation relating to tutor qualifications, course manuals, lesson plans, student assessment materials and relevant insurance arrangements.
These requirements are designed to support the assessment of training providers seeking accreditation and to provide a foundation for discussions with potential insurance partners.
Information for Students and Training Providers
BTA accreditation does not guarantee that a course or qualification will be accepted by every insurance company.
Insurance providers independently determine their eligibility criteria, including acceptable qualifications, training hours, practical assessments, treatments covered and other underwriting conditions.
Students should confirm insurance eligibility with their chosen insurance provider before enrolling in a course where obtaining treatment insurance is essential.
Insurance Companies and Industry Partners
BTA welcomes enquiries from professional indemnity insurers, treatment insurance providers and industry organisations interested in reviewing our accreditation requirements or exploring recognition arrangements.
